Grand Central Station

Advertisements

One of the world's busiest train stations and certainly one of the most renowned, Grand Central Terminal - more commonly Grand Central Station - has made more than a few appearances in TV and on the Silver Screen over the years.

At the centre of this architecturally stunning building lies the awe-inspiring Main Concourse, which has an impressive vaulted ceiling displaying a medieval-style zodiac fresco. Hanging above the massive concourse on top of the main information booth is the famous four-sided clock that has long served as a meeting point and is as much a symbol of Grand Central as the building itself.

Grand Central is by sheer amount of platforms - no less than 44 - the largest train station in the world and, as such, is one of New York's most important travel hubs bringing overland and subway lines together, as well as New Yorkers from all walks of life.
