Central ParkAdvertisements
One of the iconic sights of New York City is that of opulent skyscrapers towering over the lush greenery of Central Park. Measuring two and a half miles long by half a mile wide, this leafy idyll amid the bustle of 'the city that never sleeps' serves residents and visitors alike - millions take in its delights every year. Located among some of the most expensive real estate in the world and bordered by Fifth Avenue on one side, Central Park's open lawns and tree-lined walkways almost look out of place. Although apparently natural, the park's contours are landscaped throughout with man-made lakes and tracks dotting the area, although there is a section of natural woodland populated by varied local wildlife. Among other attractions the park offers ice-rinks, Central Park Zoo, running tracks and an outdoor amphitheatre that hosts summer Shakespeare festivals. |
